Current Research Projects: Future of Learning and Labor Market
Artificial Intelligence Powered Learning
I am currently spearheading a couple of studies in this area - exploring the integration of generative AI like ChatGPT as a teaching assistant to teach - to teach foundational skills in (a) critical thinking and (b) coding to students in different age groups ranging from middle school to graduate school.
Impact of Climate Change on Human Development
The papers from this study examines the link between climate changes manifested by poor air quality, high frequency natural disasters, rise in temperature and development outcomes among children in some of the most vulnerable regions in the world. The research is supported by a National Science Foundation grant.
Sustainable Livelihood for Refugees
This exploratory study investigates the barriers to gainful employment among Rohingya fathers in refugee camps and design sustainable livelihoods. Limited employment opportunities within the camps have been linked to adverse mental-health outcomes for fathers, hindering their capacity to support their families. The research is funded by IKEA Foundation.
